Over 10,000 lights illuminate the way along a kilometer-long path atop Andesite Mountain. This family-friendly activity features immersive light displays and an opportunity to warm up around an outdoor fire pit. You’ll also be cozy on the ride up with Ramcharger 8’s heated seats and weatherproof bubbles.

The Shedhorn Ski Mountaineering Race returns to Big Sky this March! In this world-class endurance race, you’ll work against gravity and come away knowing you completed the toughest SkiMo race course in the country. Taking you up long climbs and down big mountain descents like the Big Couloir, this race is not for the lighthearted.

THE SLEDHORN SKIMO RACES
Summiting Lone Peak twice and descending the classic Big Couloir, this route’s ups and downs are sure to test even the most advanced athletes.

Four 45-degree+ descents

Climbing to the top of Lone Peak, descending the Big Couloir, and then up and over the Headwaters Ridge, this shortened version of the Shedhorn is still a test of mountaineering feats.

NEW THIS YEAR – The all-new Ramshorn route is a great way to test the waters of Skimo or advance from our Shedling races. This route incorporates a skin track, a bootpack, and a double-black diamond descent.

Ages 14 & under – Kids get to join in on the (type two) fun! The Shedling is for junior mountaineers aged 14 & under, traveling up a skin track, transitioning to bootpack, and returning to the base area.

The 16th Annual Big Sky Area Winter Games Competition will return to Big Sky Resort. Throughout the day, athletes from the Big Sky area and several other areas around the state will compete in Giant Slalom, Snowshoe, and Cross-Country races. The Special Olympics of Montana returns to Big Sky Resort for a day of winter sports competitions. Come watch and cheer on the athletes!

Grab your skis or board and join Big Sky Resort on Saturday, March 8th, as we celebrate International Women’s Day with an empowering day filled with skiing and snowboarding, camaraderie, and fun. Join in on the fun for an afternoon of skiing followed by après ski in the Mountain Village Plaza and pop-ups from some of the top women-owned brands.
