With 6” of fresh snow falling the night before, opening day snow conditions couldn’t have been better at Big Sky Resort this year! After an abrupt end to last season due to COVID-19, the mountain welcomed passholders back on Thanksgiving day for the 2020-2021 season and we are grateful to be back on the slopes.
While opening day looked a little different this year, face mask and Buff wearing guests were ready to get back out on the snow and were patiently awaiting their turn to get up the lifts. It was a magical day with snowflakes falling throughout the day and the sun making its way through the clouds in the morning. Opening day started with 80 acres of open terrain off of Ramcharger and Explorer. To the excitement of all skiers and riders, mountain operations was able to open Swift Current as well in the afternoon. As more lifts opened up over the weekend including Powder Seeker and Challenger, skiable terrain increased to 300 acres and Big Sky Resort is off to an excellent start to the season!
Planning on coming to Big Sky this season? Get your tickets early as lift tickets will be limited this season and remember to bring a face covering to the resort to keep Big Sky open, safe and strong this season. We are excited to welcome you to Big Sky!
